Fabio Ugoste was appointed Executive Director of Cybersecurity and Business Continuity Management Division at Intesa Sanpaolo in 2017. He is also the Information Security Officer of the Group, with the responsibility of defining and implementing policies and guidelines on IT security, business continuity and fraud prevention with a holistic approach and in line with corporate strategies and objectives. He is also responsible for fostering a secure and resilient customer digitization path, increasing the company’s confidence in the digital economy and the competitive advantage of the Group by using the most innovative technologies and anticipating future threats. Furthermore, he is responsible for the Emergency Management Operating Unit and the activation of the Business Continuity Plan, contributing to the management of operational and reputational risks.
Within the Group he also holds the role of: ISP Manager for Digital Custody, ISP PCI Security Officer, ISP Swift Security Officer.
Born and based in Turin, 55 years old, he graduated in 1993 at the University of Turin with top marks in Business Administration, with a specialization in “Finance and control”.
He began his professional career in 1986 as system engineer at Sanpaolo Bank, becoming head of Systems and Local Networks Design team in 1993. In 2007 he became Head of the Service Management Department for Intesa Sanpaolo Retail Banking Area. In 2009 he took on the role of Head of Partnership Architectures and Information Security Department and in 2010 he became Head of Customer Relationship and ICT Controls Department at Intesa Sanpaolo Group Services.
He is currently deeply involved at institutional level, being member of ABI-LAB Governing Council and CERT-FIN Committee, being one of the Intesa Sanpaolo Representatives in AFME (Association for Financial Market Europe) and also a member of the Italian CODISE Committee (Bank of Italy).
