Andrea Chittaro began his career as an Officer of the Italian Carabinieri Corps in 1986. Over the course of his 24 years in service, he held leadership roles in the main organizations of the Corps in different Italian regions, ranging across public order, organized crime, internal and international terrorism.
Since July 2010 he has joined the Snam Group where he now is Senior Vice President leading the Global Security & Cyber Defence Department. He is a freelance journalist and teaches the field of security management at various Italian universities. Amongst these, Andrea is a lecturer and member of the Scientific Committee at the Homeland Security Master of the Campus Biomedico University of Rome and at the Training Course for Corporate Security Professional at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University of Milan.
Andrea is also a member of several “fora” of some of the main European gas companies including the GIE (Gas Infrastrucure Europe) Security Study Group, of which he is Chairman, and the Tematic Network on Critical Energy Infrastructure Protection within the European Commission’s Directorate General for Energy. Since its establishment, he has been part of the Advisory Board of OsintItalia.
Form June 2018, he has been President of AIPSA, the Italian Association of Corporate Security Professionals, which brings together over 600 companies and people operating in various specialized areas of Corporate Security.
